Day 249: Thumbs up!

In Finland we say "Thumbs up!" when people in English speaking countries are saying "Cross your fingers!" These thumbs belong to mittens I knitted for my youngest daughter for Valentine Day. I will send these to her and there is secret inside these two thumbs. Let's see whether she find the secret immediately or will it take time. If it takes time - then she don't like these.

Day 221: Finalize!

I love knitting socks. But when using different colors there are more yarn ends to be "hidden" compared to one color socks.

Day 206: Half glove or strange mittens?

What would not mother do for her children? Once again I tried to be a good mother and knitted half glove (kynsikkäät in Finnish) for my daughter. But these are also like mittens when you use "the hat". And she liked those - even those color could have been better.

Day 196: Cute couple!

I bought these knitted mittens many many years ago and they still are my favorite ones. For a long time I have been planning to do something like these but so far it is just dream to be fulfilled.

Day 184: Sticky stuff!

I knitted socks to my father who has some problems with walking. I also bought some sticky stuff to be added on the bottom of socks so that he wouldn't be slipping while walking. Let's see how this stuff works.

BTW, the text "pappa" means grandfather.

Day 157: I am busy!

Maybe I should rethink what kind of work I would like to do. Even I love to read a lot about testing,  software development and so on - I love more to create things with my own hands. And just now I have lot going on simultaneously. Even not all of them are in this photo since some of them are in Helsinki.

Day 144: Sock - really?

I am more and more wondering whether the result will be anything like sock. At this point this is more like a rocket than a sock.

Day 137: More progress!

Now there is more progress in my project "Toe-Up-2-at-a-time". But I am now really wondering will the result be actually two socks or something else!

Day 135: In progress!

My project "Toe-Up-2-at-a-time" has not progressed very fast. But some progress can be seen.

Day 117: Something new!

It is always nice to learn new things. To do something differently. Just to challenge myself.

About year ago I bought this interesting book: Toe-Up_2-at-a-Time_Socks  (in Finnish though) and now I finally started the project "Toe-Up2-at-a-time". Starting was quite easy - third time and all stitches required for my project were in place in a circular needle.

Day 113: What if there is no internet?

How people managed when there was no internet? Nowadays it is so easy to find a lot of info from internet and which is important to me, to find knitting and crocheting patterns. This is much more easier than having lot of magazines and books full of patters. Expect that I have lot of magazines and books though.

Day 108: Something for me!

Something for me and not always for others. I am worth of it!

Day 101: Mismathc!

This is no news to anyone knowing me or reading my blog - but I just love to knit socks. And even more happier if I can knit something to myself. This time it was these mismatched socks. Meaning that I didn't even tried to synchronized socks to be similar. Thank you Raisa for this idea.

Day 99: What wouldn't mother do for her children?

My youngest daughter really utilizes my urgent need for doing things with my own hands. She knows that I love to knit and crochet. And she doesn't hesitate to ask me to do something. And yes - this scarf is for her.

Day 95: Results!

Even having flu don't stop me knitting - this is what I achieved during one weekend.
