Day 249: Thumbs up!

In Finland we say "Thumbs up!" when people in English speaking countries are saying "Cross your fingers!" These thumbs belong to mittens I knitted for my youngest daughter for Valentine Day. I will send these to her and there is secret inside these two thumbs. Let's see whether she find the secret immediately or will it take time. If it takes time - then she don't like these.

Day 131: Young drivers!

Yesterday with real car and today by video game... Oh these young drivers: never getting enough of driving!

Day 130: Look!

I must be quite old since my youngest one has driving license. In Finland you have to be 18 years old to get one. But I am still pretty proud of my girl: she drove our car with automatic transmission without pushing brake instead of clutch - which I did during my first drive!

Day 129: Finally!

My son is living in Pori and even my youngest daughter have been dating almost two years now my son and her boyfriend have never met. Until today when me, my husband, all my three children and boyfriends of my daughters were having dinner at Viikinkiravintola Harald. Afterwards we continue the evening at home playing (cards and board games), drinking and enjoying.

I am SO HAPPY that I had my whole family with me!

Day 128: Young love!

It has been a long time since the boyfriend on my youngest daughter visited us. But now he and my daughter - there are to celebrate my birthday (which was yesterday). Look at this young love!

Day 99: What wouldn't mother do for her children?

My youngest daughter really utilizes my urgent need for doing things with my own hands. She knows that I love to knit and crochet. And she doesn't hesitate to ask me to do something. And yes - this scarf is for her.

Day 60: Final count down?

My youngest daughter moved to Seinäjoki almost an year ago. For some reason it has felt as temporarily thing but when we packed almost all of her staff still here in home I had this feeling: final count down. All my children are adults and are starting their own life. But still little bit of them are here in our home - the last removal van has not started yet.

Day 29: Why to kill a viper?

We are living in area where vipers are also living. In the yard of our terraced house there are many little children and when in one evening a viper crawled near children's playground fathers decided to get rid of that snake. I don't like snakes - not at all - but still I felt that killing the viper is not the best thing to do. There are more vipers somewhere near and one day they might also be in our yard. It would be better to tell children to be careful and if necessary, to walk away. Vipers are venomous and even their bite is not likely to kill humans you never know. But they are creatures of nature and we are the ones moved to their neighborhood.

Well - fathers didn't succeeded to kill the snake. Here is one of the snake hunters not so lucky.
